5 Individually Entered and Instructor-Approved Seat Checks

Just as before, you must check 5 safety seats. This can be done anytime in your certification cycle. The 5 types of seats you must check are:

  • 1 Rear-facing infant child safety seat
  • 1 Rear-facing convertible child safety seat
  • 1 Forward-facing child safety seat with harness
  • 1 Belt positioning booster seat
  • 1 Installation with LATCH

These seats must be entered online. After logging onto the Safe Kids website, you scroll down to the bottom and click on the link that says- Recertification 2006-2008 cycle (enter information). You must enter information for each seat separately.

For example: If you are ready to enter your rear-facing infant child safety seat, you need to click on the Add/Review button. You need to then scroll down to the bottom and enter the date you checked the seat and the instructor that approved your installation.

Once a seat check is logged, the verifying instructor will be sent an e-mail notification of the pending verification. Verification may take up to 14 days. You can view the status of submitted seat checks by clicking on the Add/Review button again.
